How To Apply for Your Heart ProjectHere's an example of how a heart project would work.
Let's say you've given your heart to sloths. First, go to our store any buy a "My heart goes to endangered animals" product -- if you want, of course. Next, you reach out to sloth experts and find out what they need. Don't assume you already know the best way to help. Perhaps you find out a sloth orphanage wants to expand their building to take in more sloth babies. The owners of the orphanage sends you an itemized list of all the expenses of building the expansion. You send in an application telling us about the project, what you will bring to the table, and what you need from us. We decide the project is right for our charity. You are the Project Director. We provide you with marketing, volunteers, consultation, fundraising, taxes, and the legitimacy of a 501(c)3. (Government approval is in progress.) You will be involved throughout the process. All funds are paid directly to us. No money passes through you. This gives patrons confidence that their donations will go to the right place. We understand that some transactions have to be in cash, but if we find out you are asking people to send money to you, your project will likely be cancelled. We use our resources to complete the project, including sending money to the correct parties. In this case, we would pay the builders that the orphanage would hire. You commit to sending updates. Our patrons want to see the fruits of their labors. It would be your responsibility to send us pictures of every step of the orphanage's building process, from the studs to the completion, as well as pictures of the babies who enter the orphanage. Make sure ahead of time that everyone involved in the project is willing to commit to this. Do you think your project is right for us? Please send us an application. We can't wait to hear your ideas! |
